I am passionate about the development of individuals and groups.
I studied for a higher diploma in education in 1995. I have been updating my training skills and delivering learning programmes in various forms ever since.
I understand that the desire to learn and develop new skills is the key to success. I have developed a creative, fun and engaging approach to training which delivers practical results. I craft a learning environment where participants:
• Take on new ideas
• Remember what they already know
• Learn from others
• Practice new skills.
My training style can be described as interactive, challenging and practical.
Interactive Learning is best achieved through actively involving participants in the training day. I use a range of experiential exercises, including group discussions and peer feedback. This creates great energy and a positive learning environment.
Challenging Effective training disrupts old and comfortable ways of thinking. I employ a coaching and questioning style in my training. I confront participants with research and new ideas. I challenge them to see new ways to increase their effectiveness.
Practical My training courses are designed to make an immediate difference to the teams I work with. Participants apply the ideas during the training day. At the conclusion, every participant creates an action plan to implement learning in relevant ways.
I have delivered training in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
